Hearing to be the first opportunity for testimony, comment by public
AUSTIN - The Texas Department of Transportation's (TxDOT) newly formed 2030 Committee will hold its first public hearing Thursday evening at Austin's J.J. Pickle Research Center. This hearing is one of five public meetings planned across the state to give Texans the opportunity to share their perspectives on the state's transportation needs in the coming decades.
The purpose of the 12-member committee is to present an assessment of the state's transportation needs through the year 2030, in the context of today's economic reality. The committee will issue a report estimating the resources necessary to meet those needs in December 2008.
Those wishing to submit written testimony should come prepared with 13 copies of any printed materials, and oral testimony will be limited to three minutes.
