Hearings provide opportunity for comment from interested Texans
AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) 2030 Committee announced the five remaining public hearing dates today; the committee’s first public hearing was held last week in Austin. These public hearings, held across the state, give Texans the opportunity to share their perspectives on the state’s transportation needs in the coming decades.
The purpose of the 12-member committee is to present an assessment of the state’s transportation needs through the year 2030, in the context of today’s economic reality. The committee will issue a report estimating the resources necessary to meet those needs in December 2008.
Locations have not yet been confirmed for each of the upcoming hearings and times listed are tentative. Those wishing to submit written testimony should come prepared with 13 copies of any printed materials, and oral testimony will be limited to three minutes.
