Project Tracker

Welcome to TxDOT's project information database known as Project Tracker. We're glad you are interested in our plans. In an effort to keep the public informed of the progress of funded transportation projects statewide, TxDOT is launching a new way of presenting project-related information.

Our hope is that you find the Project Tracker both intuitive and useful. The Project Tracker is currently in the beta test phase so please let us know your thoughts and how it can be of better use to you. A vital part of the TxDOT process is to provide the public an opportunity to comment on substantial pieces of work or issues pending before the Department. A beta test means that a product has not yet been fully completed and it's on the public domain to get real-world feedback from potential users and also to give a preview of the new launch.

As you navigate the Project Tracker database, please keep a few things in mind:

  1. The projects currently found in this database are only those in the design phase as of September 1, 2008. Gradually, the Project Tracker will expand to include projects in detailed engineering and construction phases. The ultimate goal is for this application to be the gateway to all of TxDOT's project-related information.

  2. TxDOT will update the Project Tracker once per month and, as we bring information current, data and schedules are subject to change.

  3. Many of these projects are very large and very complex. As such, shifts in funding and regional priorities can affect their status.

  4. Projects labeled as "backlog" are currently awaiting construction funding and only appear here for reference.

  5. TxDOT is always seeking and trying new ways to assist the user in searching through the thousands of project entries. Your advice is always welcome.

Please stay tuned because, in the near future, TxDOT will introduce additional project information to Project Tracker, including completed projects and active construction and maintenance projects.

Again, we appreciate your continued interest in TxDOT projects and encourage you to provide us feedback on the content and structure of the Project Tracker. Once you're inside, you will see a link that will allow you to share your comments.
